Bob Hoy was a special guest at the 3-D Film Expo II, held at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, for the showings of Wings of the Hawk on September 7 2006 and Taza, Son of Cochise on September 8, 2006. Neither of these films had been seen in 3-D in over 50 years.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences kicked off its "Great To Be Nominated, Part Three," series with 1958 Best Picture nominee "The Defiant Ones" on April 10, 2006.
